Job Overview
Papertown Motor Inn is hiring a Line Cook to support daily kitchen operations in a hotel/motel/resort restaurant setting in Pine Falls, Manitoba. This role is ideal for a dependable cook who can handle a fast-paced service environment, maintain consistent food quality, and support planning, ordering, and basic kitchen leadership. You will prepare and cook meals, support menu planning and portion costing, manage inventory and requisitions, help maintain cleanliness and food safety standards, and assist with buffets and banquets. This is a great opportunity for someone willing to relocate to a rural/remote community and build a stable long-term role with LMIA sponsorship available for eligible international candidates.

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

1 year to less than 2 years of relevant cooking experience in a restaurant or hospitality kitchen

Work Setting

Restaurant in a hotel, motel, or resort
Rural area and remote location

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods according to standards and timing requirements
Determine portion sizes and costs and maintain consistent plating and portion control
Plan menus and estimate food requirements for execution, including busy periods and special events
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, following safe handling and cross-contamination controls
Requisition food and kitchen supplies and support ordering to maintain stock levels
Order supplies and equipment as assigned and assist with receiving and proper storage
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment; track usage and reduce waste
Inspect kitchens and food service areas and ensure cleanliness, organization, and food safety compliance
Clean kitchen and work areas and follow sanitation procedures throughout the shift
Supervise kitchen staff and helpers and support smooth line execution during service
Train staff in preparation, cooking, and safe handling of food, including hygiene standards
Recruit and hire staff as required and support onboarding and shift coverage
Organize buffets and banquets, including prep planning, setup coordination, and quality control
Manage kitchen operations during assigned shifts to maintain service flow, quality, and safety
