Job Overview
Organic Wave Orchard is hiring an experienced Farm Worker (Fruit) to support apple and orchard fruit production in Waterloo, Ontario. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and can maintain quality and efficiency through repetitive, physically demanding tasks. You will support planting and irrigation activities, apply fertilizers, harvest and sort fruit, load and transfer crates and supplies, operate and maintain farm equipment, and inspect product for market readiness. If you have orchard experience and take pride in careful handling and quality standards, this is a strong opportunity for full-time contract work with LMIA support available for eligible international candidates.

Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required

Experience

• 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant experience in orchard work, fruit farming, harvesting, sorting/packing, or farm equipment support

Work Site Environment

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops according to orchard schedules and growing needs
• Apply fertilizers as directed, following safe handling and application procedures
• Harvest crops carefully to prevent bruising and maintain quality standards
• Sort fruits and vegetables and separate product based on quality, size, and market requirements
• Examine product for quality and readiness for the market and report concerns as needed
• Load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce safely and efficiently
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment as assigned; perform basic checks and report issues promptly
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and follow orchard safety and hygiene procedures
