Job Overview
Alyssa Spence is seeking a compassionate and dependable Home Support Worker to provide one-on-one support in a private home setting in Chilliwack, British Columbia. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, safety-minded, and comfortable assisting with personal care, medication routines as directed, basic dressing changes, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. You will also provide companionship, assist with feeding, and help care for pets as part of the household routine. This position starts part-time with the potential to grow into full-time hours, and learning/training is paid by the employer to help you succeed.

Education

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Or equivalent experience

Experience

• 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience in home support, caregiving, personal care, or similar work
• Employer-paid training provided for household routines and care expectations

Work Setting

• Work in employer’s/client’s home

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Administer bedside and personal care while maintaining privacy, dignity, and comfort
• Assist with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, including grooming and dressing support
• Administer medications as directed and follow established schedules and instructions carefully
• Change non-sterile dressings as instructed and within the scope of the role
• Feed or assist in feeding and monitor comfort and safety during meals
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to preferences and any dietary guidance provided
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a safe, tidy, and comfortable home environment
• Launder clothing and household linens; fold, store, and keep items organized
• Provide companionship, supportive conversation, and emotional reassurance
• Care for pets as part of the daily household routine (feeding, basic supervision, and related tasks as directed)
• Observe and report changes in routine, appetite, mobility, mood, or overall well-being to the employer promptly
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in a private home setting

• On-call availability and flexible scheduling, including evenings, nights, and weekends
• Ability to work independently while following routines and instructions accurately
• Professional, respectful behaviour required in a private home environment
• Consistent attention to hygiene and safety, especially for medications and dressing changes
