Job Overview
J.H.C SERVICES LTD. is hiring a Tilesetter to support residential and commercial finishing projects in Edmonton, Alberta. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented tradesperson who takes pride in clean layouts, strong adhesion, precise cuts, and professional finishes. You will prepare surfaces, mix and apply adhesives, set and align tiles, complete repairs and replacements, and install decorative mosaic, marble, granite, and terrazzo-style surfaces. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with strong hourly pay and LMIA sponsorship available for eligible international candidates.

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

• 1 to less than 7 months of relevant tile-setting experience (employer may support skill development through on-the-job guidance)

Work Setting

• Construction and renovation environments
• Projects may include bathrooms, kitchens, floors, walls, and decorative feature work
• Work quality and safety are expected on every job site

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered, ensuring accurate layout and proper slopes where required
• Mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel
• Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base; maintain consistent spacing and alignment
• Align and straighten tiles and ensure layouts are level, square, and visually clean
• Install tile strips and edge/transition details as required
• Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles and restore surfaces to match existing finishes
• Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs
• Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite with attention to safe handling and finish quality
• Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces when assigned
• Maintain a clean work area and protect surrounding surfaces from damage during installation
• Follow jobsite safety procedures and use appropriate PPE
