Job Overview
Alberta Health Services is seeking a Physiotherapist to provide professional assessment, treatment planning, rehabilitation, and ongoing patient care in Edmonton, Alberta. This opportunity is well suited to a qualified physiotherapy professional who can assess patients’ physical abilities, develop individualized physiotherapy programs, select appropriate therapeutic exercises and techniques, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and work collaboratively with other health professionals. The successful candidate will also communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, demonstrate sound clinical judgement, and contribute to a safe, respectful, and patient-focused care environment. This full-time term or contract position offers a competitive wage of $56.60 per hour, with health and financial benefits available in accordance with the applicable employment agreement.

- Experience is an asset
- Previous experience in physiotherapy, rehabilitation, patient assessment, or a related clinical environment is considered beneficial

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Administer evaluative tests and procedures to assess patients’ physical abilities, functional limitations, mobility, and rehabilitation needs
- Assess patients’ physical abilities and identify areas requiring physiotherapy intervention
- Develop individualized physiotherapy programs based on patient assessments, treatment goals, functional needs, and clinical findings
- Select appropriate exercises, therapeutic apparatus, techniques, and manipulations according to each patient’s condition and treatment plan
- Provide physiotherapy interventions designed to support mobility, physical function, recovery, and independence
- Monitor patients’ progress and adjust physiotherapy programs when appropriate based on clinical findings and response to treatment
- Maintain accurate clinical records, treatment documentation, progress reports, and other required patient information
- Document assessments, treatment plans, interventions, and patient progress in accordance with professional and workplace standards
- Confer with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other health professionals regarding patient care and rehabilitation needs
- Participate in collaborative care planning and communicate relevant patient information with members of the healthcare team
- Supervise technical and support staff where required and provide appropriate direction regarding assigned duties
- Follow established clinical, workplace safety, privacy, and infection prevention procedures
- Maintain professional standards when interacting with patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare colleagues
- Support patient-centred care by communicating treatment information clearly and respectfully
- Use professional judgement when evaluating patients and determining appropriate physiotherapy interventions
- Maintain knowledge of applicable clinical practices, workplace procedures, and professional standards
- Perform other related physiotherapy duties as required within the scope of the position
