Job Duties of a Health Care Aide
- Provide direct care to residents based on individualized care plans.
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and feeding.
- Support mobility and ambulation, including transferring and positioning residents.
- Monitor and report changes in residents’ conditions to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered
- Administer medications as directed and ensure proper documentation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents.
- Assist with meal preparation and therapeutic diets.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
- Utilize proper infection control practices.
- Document care activities accurately in the resident’s record.

Requirements
- Education: College/CEGEP
- Experience: Will train (previous experience is an asset).
- Certificates and Licenses:
- CPR Certificate
- Health Care Aide Certificate
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) or equivalent Health Care Aide certificate/experience acceptable to the employer.
- Knowledge and experience in elderly care (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, organized, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with occupational health and safety standards.
- Knowledge of computer software is an asset.
