Terra Nova Medical Centre seeks a skilled Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive primary care in New Westminster. Clinical Responsibilities
Primary Care Delivery:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations
  • Take detailed medical histories and maintain accurate records
  • Develop and implement patient care plans
  • Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly
  • Provide continuity of care across the lifespan

Diagnostic and Treatment Authority:

  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and X-rays
  • Prescribe medications within scope of practice
  • Order additional diagnostic procedures as needed
  • Interpret medical test results independently
  • Make referrals to specialists when appropriate

Specialized Care Areas:

  • Provide full-course prenatal, labour, delivery, and postnatal care
  • Monitor maternal and infant health throughout pregnancy
  • Offer newborn and young infant care guidance
  • Deliver end-of-life counselling and bereavement support
  • Manage chronic disease and complex conditions

Preventive Medicine:

  • Administer immunizations and vaccinations
  • Conduct health promotion and disease prevention education
  • Perform routine health screenings and assessments
  • Provide lifestyle counselling and wellness planning
  • Implement public health initiatives

Collaborative Practice:

Required Qualifications
Educational and Professional Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in Nursing (MN or equivalent)
  • Licensure: Current or eligible for BC Nurse Practitioner licensure
  • Registration: College of Nurses and Midwives of BC (BCCNM)
  • Language: Professional English proficiency
  • Experience: Considered an asset but not required
