Key Responsibilities

Comprehensive Personal Care:
• Provide dignified, compassionate personal care to residents
• Assist clients with bathing and all aspects of personal hygiene
• Bathe, dress, and groom residents according to individual care plans
• Administer bedside and personal care with respect for resident dignity
• Assist with toileting needs and supply/empty bed pans professionally
• Weigh, lift, turn, and position residents safely to prevent pressure injuries
• Maintain resident comfort throughout all care activities
• Support residents’ independence while ensuring safety and well-being

Health Monitoring and Clinical Support:
• Take and accurately record residents’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
• Monitor vital signs and document changes in condition
• Collect specimens for laboratory testing as directed
• Observe residents for signs of health changes or distress
• Report concerns or abnormalities to nursing staff immediately
• Follow care plans and clinical protocols precisely
• Administer first aid in emergency situations
• Maintain accurate, detailed resident care documentation

Nutrition and Meal Support:
• Serve meal trays to residents in timely, respectful manner
• Feed or assist residents with eating and drinking
• Monitor and document food and fluid intake
• Accommodate therapeutic diets and special dietary requirements
• Encourage adequate nutrition and hydration
• Report changes in appetite, eating patterns, or swallowing difficulties
• Support residents during mealtimes with patience and encouragement

Mobility and Transportation:
• Transport residents in wheelchairs or stretchers safely
• Assist with resident transfers using proper techniques and equipment
• Support residents with walking and mobility aids
• Position residents for optimal comfort and circulation
• Use mechanical lifts and transfer devices correctly
• Ensure resident safety during all mobility activities

Environmental Care and Housekeeping:
• Make beds and maintain residents’ rooms in clean, organized condition
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties in resident areas
• Launder clothing and household linens as required
• Ensure resident environments are safe, comfortable, and hazard-free
• Organize personal belongings for resident accessibility
• Maintain infection prevention and control standards
• Keep resident living spaces pleasant and homelike

Social and Recreational Support:
• Accompany residents on outdoor recreational activities
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Engage residents in meaningful conversations and social interaction
• Facilitate participation in activity programs
• Support resident dignity, autonomy, and quality of life
• Encourage social connections among residents
• Assist with recreational and leisure activities
• Create positive, engaging atmosphere for residents

Additional Care Responsibilities:
• Perform other duties related to resident care and comfort as assigned
• Assist with rehabilitation exercises under supervision
• Support residents with cognitive impairments using person-centered approaches
• Provide end-of-life care with compassion and family support
• Assist nursing staff with medical procedures when needed
• Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy always
• Participate in care conferences and resident assessments
• Support family members with information and emotional support
