Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in accounting or financial management

Responsibilities
- Coordinate the organization’s financial operations and budget activities to optimize financial performance
- Evaluate daily operations and identify areas for improvement
- Plan and organize daily accounting and finance operations
- Review budgets and financial reports for specific projects
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support the Accounting Manager in overseeing department functions
- Analyze financial data and prepare reports for senior management
- Monitor cash flow and manage accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist with internal and external audit preparation
- Develop and implement financial controls and procedures
- Prepare variance analyses and investigate discrepancies
- Collaborate with other departments on budgeting and forecasting
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
- Assist with tax preparation and filing requirements
- Support strategic financial planning initiatives
Credentials (Preferred)
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or working towards CPA
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS)
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in accounting and ERP software systems
- Advanced spreadsheet and data analysis skills
- Financial modeling and forecasting abilities
- Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
- Familiarity with payroll processing systems
- Experience with financial reporting tools
