Type of Crops
- Apples (various organic varieties)
Responsibilities
- Hand harvest apples carefully to ensure fruit quality
- Apply the technique of hoeing between the rows
- Hand harvest vegetables as needed
- Climb ladders safely to pick apples at various heights
- Handle fruit gently to prevent bruising and damage
- Sort and grade apples according to quality standards
- Place harvested apples carefully into bins and containers
- Transport filled containers to designated collection areas
- Identify and report any signs of pest damage or disease
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the orchard
- Follow organic farming practices and protocols
- Assist with general orchard maintenance tasks
- Work collaboratively with harvest team members
- Meet daily picking targets and quality standards
- Follow all safety guidelines when working at heights
- Assist with loading and unloading as required
- Support other farm operations during non-harvest periods
Own Tools and Equipment Required
- Work gloves (protective and grip-enhancing)
- Steel-toed safety boots
Security and Safety Requirements
- Medical exam required
- Ability to work safely at heights
