Care.com is seeking a dedicated and responsible Home Care Aide to assist clients in the Toronto area. The ideal candidate will have several years of caregiving experience, strong references, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of those they serve. This role involves providing both live-in and live-out care as well as assistance with errands and shopping.

Job Details:

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Live-In Care:

• Provide round-the-clock support for clients, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Assist with personal care, meal preparation, and daily household tasks.

Live-Out Care:

• Offer scheduled visits to support clients with activities of daily living.
• Assist with mobility, grooming, and light housekeeping tasks.

Errands/Shopping:

• Manage grocery shopping and other errands.
• Ensure timely procurement of essential items and medications for clients.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Monitor and report changes in clients’ health or behavior.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to clients.
• Maintain a safe and clean living environment.

• Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
• Proactive and adaptable to the changing needs of clients.

Skills and Knowledge Needed

• Knowledge of senior care practices, including assisting with mobility and chronic illness management.
• Basic knowledge of nutrition, meal preparation, and household management.
• Strong communication skills to interact with clients and their families.
• Understanding of health and safety protocols, including infection control.

Education and Certification Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred).
• Relevant training or certification in caregiving or personal support work is an asset.
