Responsibilities

• Administer bedside and personal care with dignity and respect
• Administer medications as prescribed and directed by healthcare providers
• Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
• Assist in regular exercise routines, such as walking and mobility exercises
• Feed or assist in feeding according to dietary requirements and preferences
• Provide companionship and meaningful social interaction
• Provide personal care tailored to individual needs
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
• Monitor and report changes in client health, mood, or behaviour
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning as needed
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized living environment
• Accompany client to medical appointments or outings when required
• Perform light housekeeping duties related to client care
• Ensure medication reminders and proper medication management
• Engage client in conversation, activities, and mental stimulation
• Respect client privacy, dignity, and personal preferences
• Communicate regularly with family members regarding client’s well-being
• Document daily activities and health observations as required
• Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
• Support client independence and autonomy whenever possible

Credentials

• CPR Certificate (required)
• First Aid Certificate (required)
• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certification (an asset)
• Health Care Aide certificate (an asset)
