Responsibilities
- Administer bedside and personal care with dignity and respect
- Administer medications as prescribed and directed by healthcare providers
- Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
- Assist in regular exercise routines, such as walking and mobility exercises
- Feed or assist in feeding according to dietary requirements and preferences
- Provide companionship and meaningful social interaction
- Provide personal care tailored to individual needs
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
- Monitor and report changes in client health, mood, or behaviour
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning as needed
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized living environment
- Accompany client to medical appointments or outings when required
- Perform light housekeeping duties related to client care
- Ensure medication reminders and proper medication management
- Engage client in conversation, activities, and mental stimulation
- Respect client privacy, dignity, and personal preferences
- Communicate regularly with family members regarding client’s well-being
- Document daily activities and health observations as required
- Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Support client independence and autonomy whenever possible
Credentials
- CPR Certificate (required)
- First Aid Certificate (required)
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) certification (an asset)
- Health Care Aide certificate (an asset)

- Criminal record check required
- References required
- Vulnerable sector check may be required
