Experience

• 1 to less than 7 months of related experience (nanny, babysitter, daycare assistant, teacher’s aide, or similar)
• Family will provide guidance on household routines and expectations

Work Setting

• Employer’s private home in Surrey, BC
• In-person care only (no remote work)

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Supervise and care for children throughout the day, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, identifying and reducing potential hazards
• Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents within the agreed scope of duties (child-related routines, basic organization, etc.)
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, maintaining consistency with family rules and values
• Instruct children in personal hygiene (e.g., handwashing, brushing teeth) and social development (sharing, manners, respect)
• Organize and lead age-appropriate activities such as games, reading, crafts, and outdoor play or outings
• Support children with their emotional needs by listening, encouraging, and providing comfort and positive guidance
• Help children with homework and school-related tasks as needed, following parents’ directions
• Keep records of children’s daily activities and any relevant health or behavioural information and communicate these to parents
• Tend to the emotional well-being of children, helping them manage feelings and conflicts in a calm, supportive manner
