Job Overview
A caring and responsible Child Caregiver is needed to support the De Leon family in Windsor, Ontario. This position is ideal for someone who truly enjoys working with children, is patient and dependable, and is ready to become a long-term, trusted member of the household. You will provide daily care, emotional support, and structure for the children, including one or more children with allergies, while helping maintain a safe, scent-free, and organized home. Room and board are provided, making this an excellent opportunity for local and international candidates who want a stable, full-time childcare role with LMIA sponsorship in Canada.

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

  • Supervise and care for children at all times during working hours, ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents within the agreed scope of duties (child-related routines, basic organization, meal preparation)
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and scent-free environment in the home, with special attention to allergy triggers
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children, strictly following dietary restrictions and allergy guidelines
  • Cook simple and healthy family meals as requested by the parents
  • Organize and lead age-appropriate activities such as games, crafts, reading, and outdoor play or outings
  • Take children to and from school, lessons, and appointments as required
  • Help children with homework and school projects, encouraging good study habits and independence
  • Instruct children in personal hygiene (e.g., handwashing, brushing teeth, bathing routines) and social development (respect, sharing, manners)
  • Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, ensuring consistency with family rules and values
  • Tend to the emotional well-being of children by providing patience, reassurance, and positive guidance
  • Keep records of daily activities, routines, and any health issues or reactions, especially related to allergies or special needs
  • Travel with the family on trips and assist with child supervision and light housekeeping duties as needed
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the children and general household upkeep (tidy play areas, clean up after meals, organize children’s rooms, etc.)
  • Shop for food and household supplies as requested, carefully checking labels to avoid allergy triggers
  • Wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens, with special attention to cleanliness and comfort for the children
