Job Title: Disabilities
Location: Coquitlam, BC
Shift: Morning, Night, Overnight
Wage: $22.60/Hour

Job Description:

As an Attendant for Persons with Disabilities, your primary responsibility will be to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities. You will work closely with individuals who have physical, developmental, or cognitive disabilities, helping them to achieve greater independence, enhance their quality of life, and participate fully in their communities. Your role is crucial in promoting their well-being and ensuring their safety.

Responsibilities:

  1. Personal Care Assistance: Assist individuals with disabilities in activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide support with mobility, transfers, and positioning as required.
  2. Medication Management: Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document any observations or concerns. Ensure compliance with medication protocols and maintain accurate records.
  3. Mobility Support: Aid individuals with mobility challenges by providing physical assistance, using mobility aids (e.g., wheelchairs, walkers), and accompanying them during outings or appointments.
  4. Household Tasks: Assist with light housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and grocery shopping. Ensure a safe and organized environment for the individual.
  5. Transportation: Provide transportation services for individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions, community activities, or other locations as required. Safely assist with boarding, securing mobility devices, and disembarking.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications or education in relevant fields is a plus)
  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a caregiving role is preferred
