Job Overview
Eden Valley Poultry Inc. is hiring Chicken Catchers to support live poultry handling operations in Berwick, Nova Scotia. This role is ideal for dependable individuals who can work nights and weekends and are comfortable with physically demanding work in a farm environment. No experience is required because training will be provided. You will help safely catch and move birds, support loading activities, and maintain cleanliness and biosecurity standards to protect animal welfare and farm operations. Work Setting

Poultry farm/live-haul environment
Night work based on production schedules and transport timelines

Key Responsibilities (Typical Duties for This Role)

Catch and handle chickens safely and humanely, following animal welfare procedures
Assist with moving birds to designated areas and supporting loading operations as required
Work as part of a crew to meet time-sensitive schedules for transport
Follow strict farm biosecurity and hygiene practices, including controlled movement between areas and proper sanitation
Keep work areas tidy and report any safety hazards, damaged equipment, or concerns to the supervisor
Follow all workplace safety rules, including proper lifting techniques and required PPE use

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Physically demanding work involving repetitive movements and sustained activity
Ability to work under pressure during time-sensitive catching and loading windows
Night and weekend shifts, with overtime as required
Work in farm conditions that may involve dust, odours, and varying temperatures
