Job Overview

Work Setting

• Meat processing and/or packing plant/establishment
• Standing and working on production lines and around machinery

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Apply food safety and handling skills in all tasks in accordance with company policies and regulations
• Transport raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials within the plant
• Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines
• Feed flattened boxes into forming machines to construct containers
• Remove filled containers from conveyors and place them in designated areas
• Manually pack goods into bags, boxes, or other containers according to specifications
• Feed and unload processing machines safely and efficiently
• Check products and packaging for basic quality defects and report issues to supervisors
• Assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties
• Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a hygienic environment
• Sort, pack, crate, and package materials and products as required
• Perform general labouring duties to support overall production needs
• Assist machine operators or assemblers in the manufacturing process
• Follow all company health and safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Security and Safety

• Criminal record check may be required prior to starting employment

Transportation/Travel Information

• Own transportation is required (plant location may not be easily accessible by public transit, depending on shift times)
• Free parking available on site

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

• Repetitive tasks and fast-paced environment
• Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination required
• Standing for extended periods
• Handling heavy loads and physically demanding work
• Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
