About the Opportunity
As a Health Care Social Worker, you will:

Conduct psychosocial assessments and provide therapeutic interventions such as adjustment therapy, crisis counselling, and discharge planning.
Advocate for patients and families while promoting education and collaboration within the community.
Work autonomously and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams to address diverse client needs.
Supervise undergraduate and graduate students during work placements.
Provide consultation leveraging advanced education (MSW) and integrated knowledge of social, emotional, psychological, and cultural factors influencing well-being.

About You
We want to hear from candidates who meet the following criteria:

Education & Certification:

Master’s Degree in Social Work from a recognized university.
Registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW).

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Social Worker.
Consideration may be given to candidates with an MSW and less than two years of experience in a developmental role.

Knowledge & Skills:

Strong understanding of human behaviour, including systems theory, family dynamics, and theories of behaviour change.
Familiarity with community resources and agencies.
Competencies in additional languages (French preferred).

Additional Requirements:

Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
