Role Summary:

Working within the Fabrication team at Freedom Concepts, you are part of the overall Production team tasked with manufacturing high-quality products and delivering them in a timely manner. Although you are working alongside other skilled workers, you must be comfortable working independently in a factory setting. Accountable to the Operations Manager for daily and weekly planning of workflow and prioritizing workload. Communication is imperative in planning but also ensuring that stock shortages are alerted to in a timely manner. A successful Fabricator enjoys working with their hands, has an analytical mind, can physically meet the demands of the job, and has an eye for detail.

Specific Functions:

  • · Produce quality MIG welds utilizing methods that minimize the amount of cleaning to be done
  • · Cut, bend, and shape tubing for fabrication according to Engineering drawings and blueprints
  • · Produce quality welds that are good looking in appearance with no gaps or holes
  • · Competent with the usage of a metal cutting saw
  • · Comfortable and confident in using jigs for welding
  • · Capable of operating a tubing bender to shape the materials to required specifications
  • · Able to recognize and work with different gauges of materials, including welding wire and various heating requirements
  • · Required to accurately submit fabrication paperwork in a timely manner
  • · Ability to notch pipe in order to produce tight-fitting joins
  • · Understand the basics of operating a digital / dial caliper
  • · Maintain a clean work area that is neat by giving it daily attention
  • · On occasion may be asked to complete custom-work and/or repairs
  • · Able to use a variety of tools and equipment
  • · Accountable for fostering a safe work culture. Must recognize unsafe conditions and practices
  • · Understanding and demonstrated competencies with MIG Welding Operation, including basic maintenance and cleaning principles
  • · Strong mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude
  • · Familiarity with TIG welding and working with aluminum / chromoly is considered an asset

  • Physical / Environmental Requirements:
  • · The hours of work are Monday to Friday, with options for 8 hour or 10 hour days depending upon seasonal business requirements.

  • · Freedom Concepts is located inside the Perimeter, but unfortunately outside of city services such as Transit. Therefore, owning your own vehicle and having reliable transportation is strongly encouraged.

  • · To be discussed during the interview process, but is dependent upon years of experience and the specific skillset the successful candidate is bringing with them.
