Responsibilities

  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Inspect the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Handle payments for goods and services
  • Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and oversee vehicle maintenance
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption
  • Ensure the safety and security of cargo, including tarping when required
  • Relay information to central dispatch

Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
