Your Role & Responsibilities
As our Health and Safety Officer, you’ll be the cornerstone of our safety culture, protecting workers and ensuring compliance across construction and industrial sites.

Core Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership:

• Establish and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures
• Ensure strict compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
• Review HR directives for safety regulation alignment
• Advise senior management on safety matters

Inspection & Investigation:

• Conduct regular workplace safety inspections
• Investigate workplace accidents and illnesses thoroughly
• Inspect hazardous chemical spills and containment
• Monitor hazardous materials handling and storage
• Perform construction site safety audits

Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed
• Maintain detailed safety records and reports
• Prepare safety documentation and presentations
• Track safety metrics and trends

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Liaise with management, union officials, and HR consultants
• Conduct safety training and awareness programs
• Communicate safety protocols to all personnel
• Foster a culture of safety excellence

What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:

• Education: College/CEGEP diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent experience
• Experience: 2-3 years in health and safety roles
• Language: English proficiency (written and verbal)
• Availability: Full-time, permanent commitment

Essential Certifications:

• Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
• National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) program
• WHMIS Certificate
• First Aid Certificate
• Valid driver’s license (asset)
