Responsibilities
- Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities.
- Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up, and assembling medical equipment.
- Maintain and repair medical equipment as needed.
- Perform tasks related to patient care, personal hygiene, and comfort.
- Supply and empty bed pans; serve meal trays and feed patients.
- Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients safely.
- Supervise patients’ exercise routines and assist with mobility.
- Make beds, maintain patients’ rooms, and collect specimens.
- Transport patients in wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Administer first aid in emergency situations.
- Respond to call signals to assess patients’ needs.
Requirements
- Languages: English
- Education: College/CEGEP
- Experience: Experience is an asset but not mandatory.
Work Setting
- Nursing home or home for the aged.
- Group home.
Credentials
- First Aid Certificate.
- CPR Certificate.
- Health Care Aide Certificate.
Additional Information
- Security and Safety: Criminal record check, immunization records, tuberculosis test.
- Work Conditions: Physically demanding; work under pressure.
- Tasks involve sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Weight handling up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
