About the Role
As a Staff Anesthesiologist in the Department of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine at SickKids, you will deliver world-class perioperative care to infants, children, and adolescents across the full spectrum of surgical specialties, including cardiac, neurosurgery, transplant, craniofacial, oncology, and complex airway management. Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert anesthetic care for elective and emergency surgical procedures
• Lead and supervise perioperative teams in one of the busiest pediatric ORs in North America
• Participate in acute and chronic pain management services
• Teach and mentor anesthesia fellows, residents, and medical students from the University of Toronto
• Contribute to groundbreaking clinical research and quality-improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in cardiology, critical care, oncology, and transplantation
• Engage in academic activities including publishing, presenting, and grant applications

What You Bring

• Medical degree with specialist certification in Anesthesiology (FRCPC or equivalent)
• Subspecialty fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesiology strongly preferred
• Eligibility for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
• Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification (or eligible)
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in pediatric anesthesiology
• Proven track record or strong interest in research, education, and quality improvement
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
