Experience:Β 1 year to less than 2 years in swine farming or related livestock operations

Responsibilities
- Handle animals safely and humanely
- Monitor animal health and identify signs of illness or distress
- Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medications, identification of piglets, and castration
- Conduct weaning procedures according to best practices
- Feed and tend animals following established nutrition programs
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens to maintain hygiene standards
- Write daily basic progress reports documenting animal health and farm activities
- Assist with breeding and farrowing operations
- Administer vaccinations and medications as directed
- Maintain accurate records of animal inventory and health
- Assist with loading and transporting pigs when required
- Monitor ventilation, temperature, and environmental conditions in barns
- Ensure biosecurity protocols are followed at all times
- Report any animal health concerns or equipment issues promptly
- Assist with facility maintenance and repairs
- Support overall farm operations as needed
- Follow all animal welfare regulations and industry best practices

Credentials (Preferred)
- Valid driver’s license (required)
- Swine handling certification (an asset)
