Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a dedicated Home Care Attendant to join our team in Vancouver, BC. In this role, you will provide essential support to clients in their homes, helping them maintain independence and improve their quality of life. You will collaborate with the healthcare team and perform a variety of duties, including housekeeping, meal preparation, and promoting a safe and healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide housekeeping, meal planning, and preparation to support clients in maintaining independence.
Assist clients and their families to restore and protect functioning within their homes.
Adhere to service policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Observe and recognize changes in clients and act accordingly.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure client needs are met.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:Grade 12 education.
Recent related experience of three (3) months or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
License: Class V BC Driver’s License.
Access to a reliable vehicle, rideshare options (e.g., EVO), or public transit.
Knowledge & Skills: Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting, bending, and stretching.

Knowledge of food safety regulations.

Home management and organizational skills.
Ability to operate related equipment (e.g., iPhones, computers).
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Work Environment

Collaborative work within home care teams.
Exposure to diverse client needs and family dynamics.
Travel within local areas for client visits.

Education and Certification
