Job Overview
Tideview Terrace in Digby, NS, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Continuing Care Assistant to provide quality care and support to elderly residents in a nursing home setting. This role involves supporting residents’ physical and emotional well-being, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties related to patient care and personal comfort
• Supply and empty bed pans
• Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse)
• Serve meal trays and assist with feeding
• Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients
• Deliver messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens
• Maintain patients’ rooms and make beds
• Supervise exercise routines and maintain supply inventory
• Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Transport patients in wheelchairs or stretchers
• Respond to call signals and determine patients’ needs
• Collect specimens and provide first aid in emergencies

Requirements

• Languages: English
• Education: College, CEGEP, or a non-university certificate/diploma in Nursing or Patient Care Assistance, or equivalent experience
