Job Overview
PMV Plomberie Inc is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plumber to join its team in Saint-Jean-d’Orléans, QC. You will work on a variety of residential, commercial, and light industrial projects, installing and repairing plumbing and piping systems in new construction, renovations, and maintenance jobs. This role is ideal for a tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship, can read and interpret technical plans, and wants a stable, well-paid position with a reputable company in the Quebec City region. Education
- Other trades certificate or diploma related to plumbing, pipefitting, or a similar trade
Experience
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience as a Plumber or in a closely related plumbing/pipefitting role
Work Setting
- Residential and commercial job sites in and around Saint-Jean-d’Orléans and the greater Quebec City area
- Indoor and outdoor work, including new builds, renovations, and service calls
Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Install domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems (sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, pumps, etc.)
- Repair, replace, and maintain domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems as required
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems
- Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing based on design specifications, building codes, and best practices
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls, floors, and ceilings
- Cut openings in walls, floors, and other structures to accommodate pipes and fittings, minimizing damage and respecting structural elements
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size using hand and power tools, threading machines, and bending equipment
- Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment, ensuring strong, leak-free joints
- Test pipes and fixtures for leaks and proper operation, using air or water pressure gauges and other diagnostic tools
- Install and test valves, backflow preventers, and other control devices according to regulations and manufacturer instructions
- Ensure all work complies with relevant plumbing codes, safety standards, and company procedures
- Communicate with clients, site supervisors, and other trades to coordinate work and resolve issues
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles in good working order and report any maintenance needs
- Keep accurate notes or basic records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects, as required by the employer
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
- Physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying materials, tools, and equipment
- Frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, and working in awkward or confined spaces (crawlspaces, mechanical rooms, under sinks, etc.)
- Standing and walking for extended periods on job sites
- Working at heights on ladders or scaffolding when installing piping and fixtures
- Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and weather conditions when working outdoors or in unheated buildings
- Use of hand and power tools requiring good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Need for close attention to detail to ensure precise measurements, leak-free joints, and code compliance
- Ability to work under time constraints to meet project deadlines and respond to urgent service calls
