Job Overview
MacLeod House Baddeck is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Continuing Care Assistant to join our team in Mahone Bay, NS. This role is vital to providing patients with respectful, quality care in a supportive environment, with visa sponsorship available for qualified international candidates.

Duties

• Respond to call signals and assist with patient hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Serve meals, assist with feeding, and support patients in meal selection
• Assist patients with movement, positioning, and pre-operative shaving
• Supervise patients’ exercises and arrange recreational activities
• Monitor patient vitals (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and report on fluid intake/output
• Collect specimens and assist with medical procedures under nursing guidance
• Provide emergency first aid as required
• Transport patients using wheelchair or stretcher for treatments and surgeries
• Assist with messaging, reports, and supplies between departments
• Keep patient rooms tidy and maintain inventory of medical supplies
  Perform equipment maintenance tasks and set up equipment as needed
• Transport patients between care facilities

Qualifications

• Languages: English proficiency required
• Education: College/CEGEP
• Experience: 1 to less than 7 months

Work Setting:

• Rural area, Nursing home/home for the aged
