Job Title: Material Handler
Location: Hamilton, ON
Shift: Morning, Night, Overnight
Wage: $29.66 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Operate our packaging equipment and operate a forklift.
  • Sample customer product(s) for laboratory testing.
  • Code customer product(s).
  • Prepare and clean trailers and hopper cars in preparation for loading.
  • Complete daily equipment check sheets.
  • Load trailers and hopper cars according to procedure; clean hopper car screens and hoses as required.
  • Transfer hopper cars and trailers in and out of the Warehouse Bldg.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete all work orders, assignments, and priority work lists as assigned consistent with
  • our commitment to on-time performance.
  • Prepare and maintain all required reports and related documentation.
  • Perform all required tasks in a manner consistent with the needs of our customers, our
  • safety procedures and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent, secondary education is considered an asset
    Valid forklift certificate.
  • Several years of experience as a Material Handler is an asset.
  • Experience in a large-scale manufacturing and/or continuous process environment is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and the environment.

Work Conditions/Schedule

  • Able to climb stairs and ladders on a regular basis; work at heights and work in dusty environments.
  • Able to work outdoors and in all weather conditions; able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Able to operate basic mechanical tools safely and efficiently
  • Able to work continental rotating shift work (ie, 2, 2, 3); including alternating weekends, nights (2-weeks days/2-weeks nights) and holidays.
  • 12-hours shifts: 6:00 – 6:00 / 80-hours per 2-week period.
  • Overtime as required
