Wage: $32.22–$48.78 an hour
NOTE: The length of this FT Night position is dependant on the length of the maternity leave.
The REGISTERED NURSE will support the functions of the Nursing Department while working in a long-term care setting.
The RN is responsible for directing the Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) and Personal Support Workers (PSW) on the unit, to ensure the effective and excellent delivery of care services.
This includes, but is not limited to; collecting and analyzing data from all care disciplines, developing, updating and implementing care plans for all Residents, administering prescribed medications and treatments, and providing continuity of care by accurately reporting and documenting changes in Resident’s health. As an RN, you will conducts audits, monitor implementation of care plans, follow-up on outcomes of Resident care, investigate where necessary, and oversee training of staff.
As an RN, you will be required to work in an efficient manner covering all floors of our 252 bed long-term care facility, and demonstrate effective use of resources, equipment, medications, and supplies.
You will be expected to work in accordance with CNO Standards of Practice, MOHLTC regulations, and policies & procedures of the Home. You will provide friendly, courteous and attentive service, in keeping with our organizational values, mission and vision, maintain amicable relations with staff, Resident’s, and their family members.
Our ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:
- Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Successfully completed a Bachelor of Science- Nursing degree (BScN) from a recognized University, or equivalent
- Demonstrated compliance with nursing standards of practice
- Demonstrated ability to assume nursing responsibilities
- Demonstrated excellent record of attendance and punctuality
- Demonstrated practice habits which are client centered and comply with Shepherd Village policies & MOHLTC standards
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated excellent organizational skills (supervision, delegation and direction of staff, ability to analyze data, plan actions, and evaluate results)
- Demonstrated record of ongoing professional development
