Position Description :

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality nursing care to geriatric residents, ensuring their safety and well-being in a therapeutic and hygienic environment.

You will be responsible for the following tasks :

• Administer nursing care, treatments, and services according to prescribed plans for infirm geriatric residents.
• Train and oversee staff in specific resident care practices.
• Assess and monitor residents’ behavior, physical conditions, and progress, administering appropriate medical interventions as needed.
• Provide leadership on the unit, offering supervision and guidance to other licensed nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
• Ensure compliance with Arizona Management System (AMS) methods, focusing on continuous process improvements and Veteran-centered care.

Skills Required :

• Proficiency in professional nursing methods and techniques.
• Strong ability to observe and assess patient behavior and progress.
• Knowledge of state and agency laws related to geriatric nursing.
• Team-based care planning and effective communication skills.
• In-depth understanding of gerontological nursing theory and practices.
• Knowledge of the aging process and related medical / psychological care needs.
• Experience in developing resident care treatment plans and medication administration.

Essential Requirements :

• Nursing home experience is essential.
• Experience in geriatric care within nursing home settings is highly preferred.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Arizona.
• Must be able to obtain and retain a fingerprint clearance card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

A valid driver’s license is required
