Duties and Responsibilities
As a Residential Care Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children and young people in their personal, educational, and social development.
  • Encouraging independence by facilitating participation in education, daily activities, and community engagement.
  • Acting as a key worker for designated individuals, tailoring support plans to meet their needs.
  • Using various communication methods to help children make informed decisions.
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the home through effective communication with staff, families, and partner organizations.
  • Observing confidentiality and safeguarding policies at all times.
  • Attending team meetings, training sessions, and appraisals to enhance your skills.
  • Working flexibly, including weekends, holidays, and overnight stays.

Qualifications and Training

  • Previous experience in the care sector is preferred but not essential.
  • Must complete a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 18 months of joining.
  • A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare is required for experienced applicants.
