Full Job Description
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing care, guidance, and support to children and young people in our care. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

• Acting as a positive role model by fostering structure, consistency, and nurturing care.
• Ensuring the safety and well-being of each child or young person at all times.
• Being attuned to the physical and emotional needs of children and young people.
• Monitoring, recording, and reporting signs of stress or abuse.
• Encouraging good personal hygiene and promoting semi-independence in daily activities.
• Supporting children and young people in various activities, including transportation.
• Communicating effectively with parents, teachers, therapists, and social workers.
• Maintaining accurate records using an electronic recording system.
• Participating in group meetings, staff sessions, and training programs.
• Managing shifts, including overnight sleep-ins.

Requirements
Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant qualifications in social work, childcare, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People).
• Experience working with children and young people, ideally in a residential setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and manage stressful situations.

Desirable Attributes:

• A valid driving license.
• Flexibility to work unsocial hours, including public holidays and residential holidays.
• Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office applications.
