Hunts Recruitment is seeking Residential Support Workers to join a dedicated team in Crawley, West Sussex. This role focuses on supporting children and young people in care who may display additional behaviours, helping them grow, develop, and achieve their full potential. About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for children and young people.
  • Act as a professional parent, offering care, guidance, and emotional support.
  • Advocate for each young person’s needs, ensuring their individuality, rights, and diversity are respected.
  • Promote skill development, problem-solving, and self-confidence, encouraging young people to take part in their own care.
  • Implement clear, consistent boundaries to help create a sense of stability.
  • Work flexibly as part of a team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Participate in sleep-in duties (4–8 per month, paid additionally).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children and young people in their personal growth, focusing on education, independence, and emotional well-being.
  • Manage and respond effectively to challenging behaviours, including using therapeutic techniques such as diffusion or distraction.
  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to company values in all aspects of care.
  • Ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are followed.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive team environment.

Salary and Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: £11.90–£12.70 (depending on experience).
  • Additional pay of £60.47 per sleep-in, with 4–8 required per month.
  • Full-time hours, with a rolling rota (Monday–Sunday).

Requirements
We’re looking for individuals who possess:

Education and Certification
No formal qualifications are required to start, but you’ll be expected to work towards:

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (funded and supported by the employer).
