Work Site Environment

Candidates should be comfortable working in diverse conditions including:

Key Responsibilities

Greenhouse Production:
• Hand harvest vegetables including bell peppers at peak ripeness
• Pick crops carefully to prevent damage and maintain quality
• Work efficiently to meet daily harvesting targets
• Handle produce gently to ensure market quality
• Harvest during optimal picking windows
• Support continuous harvest operations
• Work quickly while maintaining quality standards

Plant Care and Cultivation:
• Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants following greenhouse protocols
• Water and tend to plants ensuring proper hydration and care
• Support plant maintenance activities
• Remove leaves and growth as directed
• Tie plants to support systems
• Monitor plant health and growing conditions
• Assist with plant propagation when needed

Quality Control and Grading:
• Examine products for quality and readiness for market
• Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, color, and volume
• Sort produce to fetch high prices in market
• Identify and remove damaged or defective produce
• Ensure consistent quality standards
• Package produce according to specifications
• Maintain high-quality output throughout harvest

Greenhouse Maintenance:
• Perform greenhouse cleaning including floors, walkways, and work areas
• Clean work areas, equipment, and growing systems
• Maintain organized, safe greenhouse environment
• Remove plant debris and waste materials
• Keep pathways clear and accessible
• Support facility sanitation protocols
• Ensure clean, efficient production areas

General Agricultural Duties:
• Perform various greenhouse tasks as assigned
• Assist with planting and transplanting operations
• Support irrigation and climate control systems
• Help with greenhouse setup and seasonal preparations
• Load and unload supplies and materials
• Participate in greenhouse improvement projects
• Work flexible hours based on production needs
