Key Responsibilities

Crop Cultivation and Maintenance:
• Plant, cultivate, and irrigate tobacco crops throughout growing season
• Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and work areas
• Clear fields of wood and stones preparing for planting
• Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts from tobacco plants
• Perform weeding manually and with tools
• Clean the crops removing damaged leaves and debris
• Monitor crop growth and health

Greenhouse and Seedling Operations:
• Perform greenhouse cleaning maintaining sanitary environment
• Harvest seedlings for transplanting to fields
• Support greenhouse operations for tobacco plant propagation
• Assist with transplanting operations

Harvesting Operations:
• Harvest tobacco crops at optimal maturity
• Pick row crops efficiently and carefully
• Work quickly during time-sensitive harvest periods
• Handle tobacco leaves properly to maintain quality
• Meet daily harvesting targets
• Support tobacco curing and processing operations

Material Handling:
• Load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce
• Handle materials including tobacco, equipment, and supplies
• Transport crops from field to storage or processing areas
• Move heavy loads safely and efficiently
• Organize materials for optimal workflow

Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment including tractors, trucks, forklifts
• Drive farm vehicles and equipment safely
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and cleaning
• Conduct pre-operation safety checks
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly
• Keep equipment in good working condition

Facility Maintenance:
• Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens
• Clean work areas maintaining organized farm operations
• Maintain farm facilities and infrastructure
• Ensure safe, clean working environment
• Support overall farm cleanliness and organization

Quality Control and Monitoring:
• Detect disease and health problems in tobacco crops
• Examine products for quality and readiness for market
• Monitor crop conditions and report issues
• Identify and address pest or disease problems
• Ensure tobacco quality meets market standards

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

• Ability to work independently with assigned tasks
• Fast-paced environment during planting and harvest
• Highly repetitive tasks including planting, weeding, and harvesting
• Tight deadlines during time-sensitive operations
• Extremely physically demanding agricultural labor
• Manual dexterity for precise crop handling
• Hand-eye coordination for quality work
• Ability to distinguish between colors for grading

• Standing for extended periods throughout shifts
• Bending, crouching, and kneeling frequently
• Combination of sitting (on equipment), standing, and walking
• Weight handling up to 23 kg (50 lbs) regularly
• Working long hours during peak seasons
