We’re on the lookout for a passionate Unregulated Care Providers (UCP), Healthcare Aide, Home Health Aide (HHA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA) , to join our team in the senior living industry in Stittsville, ON Canada.

Shift schedule : 3pm-11 pm : 30 hrs. bi-weekly (every other weekend), plus one additional day either on a Friday or a Tuesday each week)

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Medication Administration (UCPs only)
• The UCP is responsible for providing the highest degree of quality care and services by administering medication and treatments in a safe organized manner by law and in accordance with prevailing practices as set out by the pharmacy.
• Reviews, reads, documents and communicates pertinent information about residents.
• Receives medication updates.
• Administers / assists / observes medications and treatments for each resident using the medication administration record (MAR).
• Medications are passed according to times as directed by the residence and / or physician’s order.
  Documents and initials as medications are given; appropriate documentation is completed for refusal or missed doses.
• Maintains confidentiality of all resident information including resident medication among other residents.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Demonstrated understanding of / empathy for the needs of seniors.
• Passionate about providing excellent care and services to seniors
• Certified in CPR and First Aid recommended.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to update and keep current their knowledge of changing regulations, practices and procedures.
• Previous employment in a health care / hospitality setting an asset.
• PSW or Supportive Care certification an asset
