Work Site Environment

• Outdoor work environment

• Various landscaping and construction sites throughout Edmonton

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and transport construction materials
• Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
• Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites
• Level earth to fine grade specifications
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
• Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
• Direct traffic at or near construction sites
• Assist skilled tradespersons with various tasks
• Assist equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment or truck
• Prepare and clean up construction sites
• Operate hand and power tools safely
• Install landscaping features including pavers, retaining walls, and irrigation
• Assist with grading and excavation work
• Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition
• Follow all workplace health and safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately
• Support project completion within established timelines

Own Tools and Equipment (Recommended)

• Steel-toed safety boots
• Work gloves
• Safety glasses
• Appropriate outdoor work clothing
• Personal hand tools (an asset)

Transportation and Travel Information

• Public transportation is not available
• Own reliable transportation required
• Valid driver’s license (an asset)
• Willingness to travel to various job sites
