Responsibilities

  • Unload fish and shellfish from fishing vessels and transport them by hand to the work area
  • Use forklift to transport unloaded fish and shellfish from fishing vessels
  • Transport fish and shellfish to designated work areas
  • Condition fish fillets for wrapping or freezing
  • Weigh fish or shellfish, record weight, and pack fish in ice
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain hygiene standards
  • Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines
  • Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination
  • Assist with filleting, cutting, and preparing seafood products
  • Package and label processed fish products for distribution
  • Inspect products for quality and remove defects
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility
  • Follow food safety and handling protocols
  • Assist with loading processed products for shipment
  • Monitor equipment operation and report any malfunctions
  • Support production flow and meet daily processing targets
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions
  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations
