Job Overview
A caring and dependable Home Support Worker is needed to provide one-on-one assistance to an elderly client in their own home in London, Ontario. • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate, or
• Equivalent experience

Experience

• Experience is an asset (e.g., caregiver, PSW, home support worker, nursing aide, or similar roles)
• Employer will provide orientation to the client’s specific needs and routines

Work Setting

• Client’s private home in London, ON
• In-person care only; no remote work

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Administer bedside and personal care as directed by the family and/or health professionals
• Administer medications according to written instructions (e.g., from family or health care provider), documenting as required
• Assist clients with bathing, showering, grooming, dressing, and other aspects of personal hygiene while preserving dignity and privacy
• Assist in regular exercise such as short walks or simple prescribed movements, as appropriate and safe
• Feed or assist in feeding, ensuring safe swallowing and respecting dietary needs and preferences
• Provide personal care including toileting assistance, mobility support (transfers, walking, repositioning), and comfort measures
• Plan therapeutic diets and menus based on the client’s medical needs and preferences, following guidance from family or health professionals
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks; cook simple to moderately complex meals as required
• Shop for food and household supplies as requested, following lists and simple budgets
• Launder clothing and household linens; fold, organize, and store them neatly
• Mend clothing and linens as needed
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties such as tidying rooms, washing dishes, wiping surfaces, and maintaining a clean, safe home environment
• Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support to reduce loneliness and promote mental well-being
• Observe and promptly report any changes in the client’s physical or emotional condition to the employer or designated contact
• Respect and follow family routines, cultural practices, and house rules at all times

Credentials (Certificates, Licences, Memberships, Courses)

• CPR Certificate
• First Aid Certificate
• Any additional caregiving/PSW-related training is an asset

• Repetitive tasks related to hygiene, meals, and housekeeping
