Responsibilities
- Supply and empty bedpans.
- Monitor and record patients’ vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients safely.
- Deliver messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments.
- Maintain clean and comfortable patient rooms, including making beds.
- Supervise and assist with patients’ exercise routines.
- Manage and maintain inventory of supplies.
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming patients.
- Transport patients between care facilities or within the residence using wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Respond promptly to call signals and attend to patients’ needs.
- Administer first aid in emergency situations.
Requirements
- Languages: English.
- Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
Work Setting
- Urban area.
- Willingness to relocate.
- Nursing home or home for the aged.
