Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation Support:
• Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit for kitchen use
• Prepare ingredients as directed by cooks
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks
• Support kitchen staff during meal preparation
• Follow food safety procedures at all times
• Handle food properly to maintain freshness and quality
• Organize ingredients for efficient kitchen workflow

Packaging and Customer Orders:
• Package take-out food orders accurately and efficiently
• Ensure food is properly contained and sealed
• Include correct condiments, utensils, and napkins
• Pack orders to maintain food temperature and quality
• Label orders clearly for customer pickup or delivery
• Work quickly during busy periods to fulfill orders
• Assist with drive-through and counter service when needed

Kitchen Cleaning and Sanitation:
• Clean and sanitize kitchen including all work surfaces
• Clean cupboards, storage areas, and shelving
• Sanitize appliances and equipment after use
• Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors throughout kitchen
• Maintain clean, organized dishwashing area
• Wipe down prep tables and counters regularly
• Clean walls, doors, and kitchen fixtures
• Ensure kitchen meets health and safety standards

Waste Management:
• Remove kitchen garbage and trash regularly
• Dispose of waste following proper procedures
• Separate recyclables and compost when applicable
• Maintain clean garbage and recycling areas
• Take out trash throughout shift and at closing
• Keep waste disposal areas sanitary
• Replace garbage bags and liners

Equipment Maintenance:
• Clean kitchen equipment including ovens, fryers, and grills
• Wash pots, pans, dishes, and utensils
• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment
• Maintain cleanliness of refrigerators and freezers
• Clean ventilation hoods and filters
• Ensure all equipment is properly sanitized
• Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor

Kitchen Organization:
• Keep kitchen supplies organized and accessible
• Stock ingredients and supplies as needed
• Organize storage areas for efficiency
• Rotate food stock following FIFO principles
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies
• Ensure workspace is organized throughout shift
• Prepare kitchen for next shift or opening
