Job Overview
Comfort Inn & Suites is hiring a Hotel Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance operations and ensure the property remains safe, functional, and guest-ready at all times. This role is ideal for an experienced maintenance leader who can coordinate repairs, schedule preventative maintenance, supervise a small team, manage materials and costs, and respond quickly to operational issues. You will read drawings and plans when needed, set up and maintain equipment, enforce health and safety requirements, and produce clear reports to support efficient hotel operations. If you have strong leadership skills and take pride in keeping buildings and equipment performing to standard, this is a long-term opportunity with stable full-time work and LMIA support available for eligible international candidates.

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

  • 5 years or more of relevant building/hotel maintenance experience, including supervisory or lead-hand responsibilities

Work Site Environment

  • Outdoors work may be required as part of property and equipment maintenance

Supervision

  • Supervise 3–4 people (may vary by shift and workload)
  • Working groups may include staff in various areas of responsibility, waterworks maintenance workers, trades helpers, and labourers

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

  • Supervise workers and projects to ensure maintenance tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to hotel standards
  • Coordinate and schedule activities, including preventative maintenance, repairs, and urgent service calls
  • Prepare production and other reports, including work orders, daily logs, and maintenance updates
  • Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions as needed
  • Lead and instruct individuals, ensuring expectations, priorities, and safe work methods are understood
  • Set up machines and equipment and ensure proper operation and readiness for daily use
  • Repair and maintain equipment and coordinate corrective actions to minimize downtime
  • Read blueprints and drawings to determine work requirements for repairs, upgrades, or installations
  • Estimate costs and materials and support planning and budgeting for maintenance work
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies and maintain adequate inventory for smooth operations
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed, including PPE use, hazard reporting, and safe work procedures
  • Recommend personnel actions based on performance, attendance, and operational needs
  • Coordinate with management and other hotel departments to reduce disruptions and support guest experience

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

  • Work under pressure with time-sensitive repairs that impact guest comfort and safety
  • Must be available for shift work including evenings, nights, and weekends as scheduled
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities across a busy property
