Job Overview
Station Pointe Medical Clinic is seeking an experienced Family Physician to provide comprehensive, patient-centred primary care in Edmonton, Alberta. This role is ideal for a physician who is confident managing acute presentations, coordinating ongoing care, and working collaboratively with other medical practitioners to support strong outcomes for patients and families. You will assess and diagnose common conditions, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe evidence-based treatments, and coordinate referrals and follow-ups as needed. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with strong annual compensation and LMIA sponsorship available for eligible international candidates who meet Alberta licensing requirements and are eligible for professional liability insurance.

Education

• Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry (medicine required for family physician practice)

Experience

• 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant experience in family medicine/primary care

Credentials (Required)

• College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP)
• Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities (must be eligible to practise in Alberta)

Security and Safety

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Collect medical information from patients, family members, and other medical professionals to support accurate assessment and continuity of care
• Examine patients’ health conditions to identify diseases and injuries and determine appropriate management plans
• Provide acute care management for urgent and non-urgent presentations
• Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures; interpret results and communicate next steps clearly
• Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health and coordinate care when required
• Prescribe and administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines and regulatory standards
• Advise patients on health care, preventive measures, and self-management strategies
• Coordinate or manage primary patient care, including follow-ups, monitoring, and referrals as appropriate
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and protect patient confidentiality
• Participate in clinic workflows and team communication to ensure smooth patient experience and safe care delivery
