Comfort Keepers is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide to provide essential support to patients in a healthcare setting. This role involves assisting patients with personal care, medical equipment handling, and mobility support. Ideal candidates should have a caring nature, patience, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up, and assembling medical equipment
- Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Serve meal trays and feed patients
- Make beds and maintain patients’ rooms
- Bathe, dress, and groom patients
- Transport patients between care facilities
- Transport patients in a wheelchair or stretcher
- Answer call signals to determine patients’ needs
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas
Requirements
- Languages: English
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months

Work Environment for Health Care Aides in Canada

Skills and Knowledge Needed:

Education and Certification Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Health Care Aide or Personal Support Worker (PSW) program
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Additional training in geriatric or palliative care is an asset
