Job Overview
St Louis Bar and Grill in Dartmouth is looking for an experienced Cook who can deliver consistent, high-quality meals in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role is ideal for a dependable kitchen professional who understands timing, teamwork, food safety, and presentation. You will prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes, maintain a clean and organized station, and help train other staff on proper preparation and safe food handling. Experience

• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar commercial kitchen

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods according to restaurant standards and recipes
• Maintain speed and accuracy during peak service while ensuring consistent quality and portion control
• Set up and organize workstation with required ingredients, tools, and supplies before and during service
• Ensure safe food handling practices, including proper storage, rotation, temperature control, and contamination prevention
• Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, supporting consistent kitchen standards and teamwork
• Coordinate with front-of-house and kitchen team members to meet ticket times and guest expectations
• Clean kitchen and work areas, including equipment and surfaces, to maintain sanitation and safety standards
• Assist with basic prep work, inventory organization, and minimizing waste through careful handling and portioning
• Follow all workplace health and safety requirements and participate in daily closing/opening routines as assigned

• Fast-paced environment with peak periods and time-sensitive service
• Standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, and working in hot kitchen conditions
• Ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies as required
