Job Overview
Sahebdev Singh Garala and Navneet Kaur are seeking a compassionate and dependable Companion to provide supportive care and meaningful companionship in a private home in Surrey, British Columbia. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, respectful, and attentive to dignity and comfort. You will assist with personal care routines, meals, mobility and light exercise, basic dressing changes, and day-to-day support that helps the client feel safe, cared for, and engaged. Experience is an asset, but we value the right attitude, strong communication, and a sincere commitment to providing consistent, respectful care.

• Experience is an asset (home support, caregiving, personal support work, or related experience preferred)

Work Setting

• Work in employer’s/client’s home in Surrey, BC
• Role requires professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for household routines and privacy
• Flexible schedule may include a mix of morning, daytime, evening, or weekend hours depending on care needs

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Provide companionship through conversation, daily engagement, and supportive presence to improve emotional well-being
• Administer bedside and personal care in a respectful and safe manner
• Assist with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing as required
• Provide personal care support aligned with the client’s preferences and routines
• Assist in regular exercise such as walking, encouraging safe mobility and daily activity as appropriate
• Feed the client or assist in feeding, supporting safe and comfortable mealtimes
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to household preferences and any dietary instructions
• Change non-sterile dressings as directed and within scope of practice, maintaining cleanliness and comfort
• Mend clothing and linens as required to support daily comfort and household organization
• Observe and report changes in the client’s condition, mood, appetite, mobility, or skin integrity to the family/employer as appropriate
• Keep the immediate care area clean and tidy, supporting a safe, calm, and organized home environment

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

• Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day
• Ability to assist with mobility and daily personal care tasks safely
• Attention to detail for hygiene routines, meal preparation, and dressing changes
• Ability to work independently and manage time well in a private household setting
