Responsibilities
As a Home Support Worker, you will provide professional, compassionate care in private residences, helping patients maintain their dignity and independence. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with personal hygiene (bathing, showering, dressing, grooming)
• Preparing meals and assisting with feeding if required
• Helping with mobility (transferring, repositioning)
• Performing light housekeeping and laundry tasks
• Providing bowel/bladder care
• Offering companionship and social interaction

Requirements

• A caring and compassionate nature with a strong customer service mindset
• Passion for helping others and supporting the community
• Ability to attend the full-time training program
• Valid G or G2 driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of automobile insurance
• Current vulnerable sector check and clear background check

Work Environment

• Home-Based Care: Work in private residences, providing one-on-one support
• Community Settings: Work in clinics, transitional care units, and retirement homes
• Physically Active Role: Assisting with mobility, housework, and personal care tasks
• Flexible Schedules: Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Skills and Knowledge Needed

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks
• Knowledge of personal care techniques and hygiene best practices
• Understanding of patient safety and emergency procedures
• Basic cooking, cleaning, and household management skills

Education and Certification Required

• No formal education required
• Training provided by CarePartners upon hiring
• Completion of an accredited Home Support Worker training program (preferred but not required)
