Job Overview
Sylvia Kirsh Caregiver is seeking a compassionate and dependable Family Caregiver to provide consistent in-home support in North York, Ontario. This role is ideal for an experienced caregiver who can deliver dignity-first personal care, support medication routines as directed, assist with hygiene and mobility, and help maintain a clean, safe home environment. You will also support basic care tasks such as non-sterile dressing changes and specimen collection as required, assist with feeding, provide companionship, and help with cooking. Optional live-in accommodation is available at no charge, and on-site housing options and amenities may be available. Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

• 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience in home care, personal support, or similar caregiving work

Work Setting

• Work in employer’s/client’s home

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Administer bedside and personal care while maintaining privacy, dignity, and comfort
• Assist with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, including grooming and dressing support
• Administer medications as directed and follow established schedules and instructions carefully
• Assist in regular exercise such as walking and light mobility routines as appropriate
• Feed or assist in feeding and ensure meals are provided safely and respectfully
• Cook and support basic meal preparation according to preferences and any dietary guidance provided
• Change non-sterile dressings as instructed and within the scope of the role
• Collect specimens as required and follow safe handling and reporting procedures
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a tidy, hazard-free home environment
• Launder clothing and household linens; fold, store, and keep items organized
• Provide companionship, supportive conversation, and emotional reassurance
• Observe and report changes in routine, appetite, mobility, mood, or overall well-being to the employer promptly
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in a private home setting
