About the Opportunity

As a Concrete Pourer, you’ll play an essential role in various construction activities, working alongside skilled tradespeople and operating equipment to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Concrete and Material Handling:
• Mix, pour, and spread concrete and asphalt materials according to project specifications
• Ensure proper consistency and quality of concrete mixtures
• Pour concrete into forms accurately and efficiently
• Spread and level concrete using hand tools and power equipment
• Finish concrete surfaces as directed
• Monitor curing processes and protect freshly poured concrete

Construction Site Support:
• Load and unload construction materials at job sites
• Move materials to designated work areas using wheelbarrows, carts, and hand trucks
• Transport tools, equipment, and supplies throughout construction sites
• Organize materials for efficient workflow
• Stock work areas with necessary supplies

Form Work and Site Preparation:
• Erect and dismantle concrete forms to specified dimensions
• Build, install, and remove scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
• Ensure forms are properly aligned, braced, and secured
• Apply release agents to forms before concrete placement
• Clean and maintain reusable forms
• Level earth to fine grade specifications using rakes, shovels, and other tools

Trade Assistance:
• Assist carpenters, bricklayers, cement finishers, roofers, and glaziers in various construction activities
• Provide support to skilled tradespeople as directed
• Hand tools and materials to tradespeople
• Help with measurements and layout work
• Learn construction techniques through hands-on assistance

Equipment Operation and Support:
• Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators, tampers, and compactors as directed
• Tend and feed construction machines including mixers, compressors, and pumps
• Assist heavy equipment operators in securing special attachments
• Signal operators to guide equipment movement safely
• Provide general equipment operation support
• Oil and grease hoists and similar equipment for proper maintenance

Specialized Construction Tasks:
• Assist in aligning pipes during oil and gas pipeline construction activities
• Support drilling and blasting operations at construction sites
• Assist miners in excavating and operating surface mining machinery
• Participate in infrastructure and heavy construction projects

Site Safety and Maintenance:
• Remove rubble, debris, and waste materials using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment
• Keep construction sites clean, organized, and safe
• Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants following safety protocols
• Remove asbestos and other hazardous materials under proper supervision
• Sort, clean, and pile salvaged materials for reuse or disposal
• Assist in demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools
• Direct traffic at or near construction sites to ensure safety
• Maintain awareness of site hazards and follow all safety procedures

General Construction Duties:
• Perform other construction activities as directed by supervisors

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience:
• No formal degree, certificate, or diploma required
• 1 to 2 years of construction or concrete work experience
• Previous experience with concrete pouring, form work, or general construction preferred

• Understanding of basic construction techniques

Essential Skills and Knowledge:
• Knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques
• Ability to read basic construction plans and measurements
• Understanding of construction site safety protocols

Language:
